Mafalda Santos

 

Mafalda took a degree in Painting at Faculdade das Belas Artes do Porto (Oporto’s Visual Arts Faculty). Between 2002 and 2007, she was the artistic programmer of space PêssegopráSemana, in Oporto. In 2007/2008 she won a scholarship sponsored by Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian (Foundation) and Fundação Luso-Americana (Luso-American Foundation) at the artistic residency Location One, in New York. She was elected for the Prémio EDP Novos Artistas (New Artists EDP Prize) in 2007. Currently, she manages, together with Manuel Mesquita, the artistic residencies’ program at Moínho da Fonte Santa (Sacred Fountain’s Mill), in Alandroal (Central Alentejo). Her work has been included at the following Portuguese collections of António Cachola, EDP Foundations and Ilídio Pinho, Grupo RAR (RAR’s Group) and PLMJ Foundation.
